Destination set to Şanlıurfa, an ancient city 55 km from the Syrian border—720 km, about 10 hours on the road. The early bear gets honey; that honey was a view sweet to the heart. In the darkness before dawn a faint hum rose; a world of silhouettes suddenly took on color, drop by drop, like dye falling into an ink bottle—flaring brilliant for an instant, then returning to dark. A blue line gilded with gold slowly lifted in the east; the curtain opened; the land was painted in. Countless bright pendants rose into the sky—hot-air balloons—and the day began.
Today’s road sometimes rolled like big waves made by a scarf of eleven shades of yellow; sometimes it felt like stepping on blue bricks and gray tiles strewn with pearls; sometimes like driving through the forehead lines of a sleeping giant. A 3,000-plus-meter snowy peak moved from straight ahead to the rear-view mirror over three hours. I fed the car Shell V-Power diesel; it pulled hard in return—maybe every car longs to go farther on prettier roads.
At sunset, after getting lost I stumbled to the back gate of an ancient tomb. Statues over seven meters tall lined the east and west sides of a peak reshaped into a burial mound; huge stone heads, severed from their bodies, keep daily watch over sunrise and sunset. They can’t swap positions to see each other’s scenery and have kept this vigil for centuries.
I walked a circle around the mound and the sun set once more. With that backdrop the same daily act shaped a unique mood—right then: Where is the road? I still had over 200 km to go.
By headlight, rainbow clouds glowed in the distance. I drove on—from ancient civilization toward a modern city. The road surface mirrored that change; the occasional speed-trap police car kept me alert. 21:00—ancient buildings crowding both sides signaled arrival in the big border city on the Turkey–Syria line. Found a hostel. A little tired.

目的地设定在尚勒乌尔法，离叙利亚边境55km的一座古城，720km 10小时的路程。早起的熊儿有蜂蜜，这蜂蜜就是一幅甜到心里的风景，黑暗夜幕里的嗡嗡声开始隐隐的响起，一切还是剪影的世界随着这声音突然添上了色彩，一点一滴，犹如墨水瓶中滴入彩色颜料，炫彩一瞬间便又重回黑暗。东方一条镶着金边的蓝线慢慢升起，大幕慢慢拉开，大地也被涂上了颜色，黑暗慢慢退去，众多犹如斑斓的项坠升上天空，一天就这么开始了。今日的路，时而像轻风吹过带有11种黄色的丝巾形成的大波浪，时而像踩在珍珠满地的青砖灰瓦上，时而还似穿行在沉睡巨人的抬头纹里。三千多米的雪山从正前方慢慢移动到后视镜中消失一共用了三个多小时，给车子吃顿饱的，壳牌的VP柴油，整段路他都卖力的回馈着我，也许每一台车都想走更远更美的路吧。在日落时分因为迷路误打误撞的走到了一个古坟墓后门，7米多高的石像排列在已经把山顶改造成宝顶的东西两边，身首分离的巨大石制头颅组团一样的每天遥望着日出和日落，只不过他们没办法交换场地领略彼此的风光，就这样的看过了几个世纪。围着宝顶走了一圈，正巧日又一次的落了，这每天都在上演的动作真的会随着背景的衬托演绎出独特的心境，比如此时：路在哪里？我需要走完剩下的两百多公里。在车灯的映衬下，远处是七彩的祥云，从古文明继续向新城市进发，路况也是应景的展现出从古文明到新城市的变革，时而出现的测速警车也是会让司机很提神。二十一点，包围在两侧的古城建筑说明到了目的地叙土边境大城市，找间旅社，有点疲劳。
